What is Cathodic Protection?

Cathodic protection is a protection system for metallic tanks and installations (such as LPG tanks, natural gas tanks, metallic installations) installed under soil or water to prevent corrosion and danger by the soil over time. For this system, protection is established by placing an anode material according to the electronegativity of the tanks or installations installed under the ground. The installed protection system may differ as galvanic anode and external current source.

Cathodic Protection Measurements

  • Potential difference between system and anode
  • Current value between anode and cathode
  • Potential difference between anode and reference
  • Potential difference between cathode and reference
  • A specially prepared reference electrode is used for cathodic protection measurements.

By making the above written measurements and determining whether it is in the appropriate value range
It is evaluated and reported in accordance with TS EN 13636 standard. As Beta Elektrik Mühendislik, we provide services with expert staff and equipment to evaluate the suitability of your cathodic protection installation.
