What is High Voltage (HV)?

High voltage is defined as voltage of 1000 Volts and above. While voltage levels were divided into three as low voltage, medium voltage and high voltage in the past years, this definition has been reduced to two with the changes made in the regulations. Above 1000 volts is defined as high voltage and below 1000 volts is defined as low voltage.

Why is high voltage needed?

Low voltage energy transmission and distribution costs us high costs in terms of conductor cross-section and voltage drop. High voltage offers us a solution with lower costs in energy transmission and distribution. For this reason, our transmission lines have high voltages over 1000 Volts. Transmission and distribution of electrical energy is as important as its production. For this reason, after production, the voltage is increased with the help of transformers and becomes suitable for transmission and distribution.

In addition, there are some high voltage machines, motors and devices.

As Beta Elektrik Mühendislik, we continue to provide services with our expert engineer staff especially in the field of high voltage transmission and distribution.
